Since the Inaugural Festival in 2011, the AIF has become an Annapolis tradition, thanks to the support of the business community and the people who share our passion for the Emerald Isle and the magical Celtic traditions and music we hold so dear. Last year, 32 businesses sponsored this Festival, and $30,000 was donated to local non-profits in our community. We continued our 2-day event with the help of the Maryland Renaissance Festival who again presented our Twilight Concert the night prior. We are back again and still growing. The 2014 Annapolis Irish Festival will take place on Friday, July 11th 2014 and Saturday, July 12th, 2014. This year’s line up will make your heart beat faster and will literally make your hair turn green! A first this coming year – In 2014 we will be going full on festival starting at 4pm on Friday, July 11th featuring 3 stages of entertainment. We have a few other tricks up our sleeve and will be announcing them in the months to come! The 2014 Annapolis Irish Festival will host over 90 vendors, the famous Little Leprechaun Land and will again benefit the Hospice of the Chesapeake, the Anne Arundel County Medical Center, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust. In just our 4th year we will crush our 5 year goal of giving back $100,000 dollars to local non profits!

Davis’ Pub

When visitors leave Davis’ Pub, (a) it probably happens grudgingly and (b) if it’s not already, they wish it was their neighborhood hangout. Whether it’s your first visit or 50th, there’s an easy rhythm to this no-frills one-level bar, built in the 1930s when Eastport was a working-class mix of black and white residents.

Settle in on a bar stool, chat with the gregarious bartenders and the regulars sitting next to you, grab a draft beer (Otter Creek, Flying Dog, Heavy Seas) or a can of Natty Boh or Bud, check out the TV schedule to see what’s playing on the flat screens — Orioles and Nationals games play in separate corners of the bar — and order a basket of crab balls, delightful meatball-size crab cakes that arrive with saltines and creamy dipping sauce. Classic rock, country and ’80s tunes play from the jukebox while you make fast friends talking about Maryland sports (note the Terrapins and Johns Hopkins lacrosse gloves hanging from the exposed rafters), your most recent date, current events, boats, whatever — the bartenders have a gift for getting every person involved in a conversation.

Sure, there’s a wharf right across the street, and Davis’ helpfully provides sailors with its latitude and longitude on its Web site, but this isn’t a stuffy boater’s bar by any stretch.

Beyond the craic, the beer and the occasional whiskey shot, this is the best bar food in Annapolis, and that goes beyond the savory jumbo-lump crab cakes and the jumbo pretzel smothered in crab dip. It’s typical to find fresh fish and locally grown grilled corn on the blackboard menu behind the bar. Even better, food is served until 1 a.m. And hey, even if you’ve eaten elsewhere, you’ll still find plenty of reasons to stop by.

Silopanna Music Fest

Silopanna Music Fest

Sponsored by The Rams Head Group – they’re we’re all about Food, Fun & Beer.

What started in 1989 as a small, 30-seat pub in Annapolis, Maryland has grown over the last 25 years. And through that growth, our committment to yummy food, craft beer and music has only grown stronger. Much stronger. They book nearly 700 concerts in Maryland (@ramsheadlive, @ramsheadonstage, @piersixpavilion) plus 600+ nights of free, live & local music in our restaurants. Every year. That’s a lot of music.

So in 2011, they thought let’s get crazy and we launched Silopanna Music Festival. Hurricane Irene had other plans for them, and 2011 was Irene-d out. They were back in 2012 and man, that was a wicked time. And here they are in 2014, ready to go again. Silopanna is our daily commitment to Food, Fun & Beer wrapped up into one exceptional day in Annapolis… where it all started in ’89.
